Acne is a skin
disease which usually affects the face but there are other anatomical
areas of your skin which you can be proned to get acne as well like
back and chest. Back acne is more complex than facial acne due to
the fact that your back surface area is larger. Having acne on your
back might not be a too painful experience for some as the back
is hidden when you're wearing clothes but nevertheless, can be frustrating
incase you're a guy and you have to remove your clothes when going
to the beach and swim. But having an acne-ridden back is not a pleasant
experience, why hiding your skin when you can find solutions to
treat it. One thing to remember is that solutions that work for
facial acne can also be applied to back acne. Here are a few tips
about how to get rid of acne on your back:
Take showers
regularly
Cleaning your
body is important to remove any impurities and bacteria that can
be on your skin. If you're the typical active person who sweat a
lot, it's crucial to take regular showers. Sweating a lot on the
back is quite common and showering will leave the skin clean from
dirt and perspiration.
Use natural
soaps
There are many
soaps on the market but not all soaps can be good for your skin
when treating back acne specially. Most commercial soaps will leave
your skin dry and having an unmoisturized skin can make you proned
to acne. Soaps having natural ingredients are recommended for instance
hand-made glycerin soaps which contain aloe vera and green tea extract
or oils such as olive oil, hemp seed oil, eucalyptus oil, tea tree
oil, coconut oil, avocado, hazelnut, emu, sunflower and sweet almond.
These type of soaps usually don't contain harmful chemicals or toxins
and are less likely to cause skin irritation and they keep the skin
moisturized due to their hygroscopic properties. Ideal for people
with sensitive skin as well. Hand-made glycerin soaps are generally
more expensive though and are considered hypoallergenic. As far
as possible, go with hand-made glycerin soaps without any fragrance
or harsh detergents as the latter are additives which can irritate
the skin for some people. Some people have great results with the
original Neutrogena glycerin soap.
Drink more
water
This might sound
trivial but did you know that you can lessen your acne by a large
extent simply by drinking water. I am not talking about only 1 glass
per day but 8-10 glasses everyday. And if you are active in exercising,
you might need more. Water is life and it's true because water is
beneficial for the body in many ways you can imagine. It promotes
good health internally as well as externally. Getting adequate amount
of water will flush out toxins and impurities from your body which
are the bacteria that can trigger acne breakouts.
Reduce stress
Stress is not
directly related to acne but the effects of stress are. Stress causes
more hormone production in your body resulting in oilier skins.
Overproduction of oil by your skin sebaceous glands can cause acne
to erupt. Try to relax by doing some physical activities, yoga,
aerobics or practising deep breathing techniques and always get
adequate amount of rest.
Eat healthily
Some people
will say that food has nothing to do with acne but from my experience,
am afraid to say it has something to do with it. I did the experience
of eating only healthy foods as compared to unhealthy ones and I
did notice a difference. Try eating fried oily foods regularly and
you will feel that your skin is starting to get acne breakouts.
A diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables and wholegrain foods are
beneficial for eradicating acne.
Swim in the
ocean
Go to the beach,
get some sun on your skin and back. The sun has vitamin D and is
actually good for the skin. Of course overexposure to the sun isn't
good but some warmth from the sun is actually beneficial for acne.
And go and swim in the ocean. The ocean's natural sea water and
sea salt is considered a great remedy to heal and prevent acne.
